It cold and windy outside,
Me and my boy snuggle up inside,
Under the duvet he falls fast asleep,
Snuggling into me,
As close as can be.
Contented breaths as he snuggles and dreams,
Snuggling ever closer,
An intake of breath,
I smell apples,
From the apple pie he nicked.
Sneaky as can be,
I wriggle my way out,
Soon wishing to snuggle back up,
It’s cold out here,
As I lift him up,
He grumbles and stirs.
Then wraps his arms around my neck,
Tight as can be,
Never let go mummy,
I take him into his room,
In his own bed and lay him down.
He stirs but sleeps on,
I sneak out,
Soon making my way downstairs,
Thinking what a wonderful child I have,
The smell of apples still lingers in my nose,
A smile appears on my face,
I am truly blessed. I am a mother.
